As some of you may know I recently got back from a two-week trip to Santorini, it had been on my bucket list for a while and it certainly exceeded my expectations! I stayed in a few hotels during my trip but the Rocabella Hotel really was a highlight of my stay.
The hotel is situated in Imerovigli, which is in between Thira (Fira) and Oia. If you’re planning on visiting Santorini i would definitely recommend staying in Imerovigli as its much quieter and the sunsets are INCREDIBLE. Oia is beautiful but if you’re planning on watching the sunset it gets extremely busy in peak season so you have to get there early to get the best spot.
I stayed at the Rocabella for 7 nights and booked the EXECUTIVE CALDERA VIEW ROOM WITH OUTDOOR MINI PLUNGE POOL. Upon arrival we were greeted with fresh juice and a bottle of wine and fruit platter in our room. The room was amazing, it was really spacious with a huge outdoor terrace and its own mini plunge pool looking out on to the breathtaking Caldera. The interior of the room was all white with simple, minimal decor, this complimented the white washed buildings perfectly. One thing I would say when booking a room is that there is a difference between the Caldera view and the sea view rooms. The Caldera view you can watch the idyllic sunsets from the luxury of your terrace.
Breakfast was included in our booking and I can honestly say it was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had! and thats a big statement to make!! Breakfast was served every morning until 11am, you could choose whether to sit inside or outside with 360 views of the Caldera. There was a breakfast buffet with pastries, fruit, yogurt, meats, bread and cheeses. You could then order from the a la carte menu which had a great selection from Acai bowls to Eggs Royale or pancakes with greek yoghurt. Everything was all fresh and home-made which was heavenly. I think i tried pretty much everything on the menu and it was all exceptional!
All of the staff at the Rocabella really went above and beyond to look after myself and my wife during our stay with them. We were greeted every morning at breakfast and all of the staff around the hotel would say hello or ask us if we were enjoying our trip and if we needed anything.
The amenities at the hotel were fantastic, as well as a hotel there is also a spa and a gym. There was 4 swimming pools with a cocktail bar and a main pool bar which served food all day. The hotel does host a lot of weddings, even though we were notified of this I would bear this in mind when booking your stay. For more information visit their website here. They also have a sister hotel in Mykonos which looks beaut!
Have you guys been to Santorini before? Let me know what you think!
